SOanime will be "blacking out" for January 18th 2012. This is in protest to the SOPA & PIPA bills that are currently facing the US House and Congress. If that bill passes the US Government could shut down communities just like this simply because they disagreed with us. Free speech would be hindered, and world wide internet usage would be affected. Therefore we are proud to participate in the protest. The site will be back and fully operating on the 19th of January (Thursday).

This is pointless. There aren't nearly enough people here for this to make any kind of statement. Rather it'll just be an inconvenience.

Anyway, it's more about PIPA, now that SOPA is shelved.

Facebook is particpating as well as hundreds of sites. Small and large. This pointless gesture adds up in the sum of things. Big Picture thinking guys. Unless you'd rather us sit here and do nothing while the internet is radically changed by corporations that care about their own profits more than free speech? Fact is, this site may not be very active, but it gets plenty of traffic and guests passing by.

Well, PIPA lost a lot of support. Haven't seen anything on SOPA yet though...
