Sure hope those new bosses and areas will be worth this outrageous blasphemy.

I really hope consoles get a dlc package/update for the new stuff rather than having to migrate over to pc. My computer would lag really hard even at the lowest settings probably.
Oh what am I saying? I'm a hopeless Dark Souls fanboy, I'm going to end up buying the pc version on release day too.

I hope Artorias is a nightmare to fight.

But the big problem with GFWL is to do with regions. For a start it's region locked, so I won't be playing with any of you guys by the looks of it, but worse still, some regions it just won't work at all due to licensing issues or something. However, there have been games that advertised the GFW thing and ended up Steamworks and such, so we just have to hope Bamco isn't crazy. As far as I know they also signed a contract with Valve regarding future releases, but I'm unsure if this covers Dark Souls.

Any of you guys played Demon's Souls? Just finished it a few days ago, after playing both, I can definitely say Dark Souls is by far the better game :/

Although I must admit, finally arriving at Maiden Astraea and seeing her kill herself nearly brought me to tears, all she was doing was creating a refuge for the unloved, the unwanted and the unwashed, hah, I wish she was optional like Priscilla.

I'm playing through Demon's Souls, but the Maneaters are tearing me a new one. I agree that Dark Souls is better. much more finely tuned... Apart from the backstab window.

Servers go down on the 21st of May, so it looks like I'll either have to get a bloody move on or play without people's cheerful messages.

I dunno. DeS has faster combat, less stupid bsing whereas DaS has the convenient bonfire system, multiple invaders, and a more polished game system overall. After going through the pains of both games' faults/weaknesses, I actually prefer DeS combat because I'm a spearman and DeS has a much better spear moveset compared to DaS. But for everything else aside from combat, DaS is usually much better.

Item burden drove me crazy lol

As for the maneaters, they're just souped up gargoyles that can use magic. I think the key strategy to them is that blocking their hits is useless. You lose health and stamina plus they can stunlock combo you when you're on the ground about to get up.
I just ran around firing arrows at them till they dropped dead.

I'm doing hardly any damage. I don't quite get the upgrading in DeS yet since I've not played a great deal so I feel kinda underpowered.

This isn't unusual. I died a ridiculous amount in the first few weeks of playing, and even when I felt pretty good about myself, going into new areas was always a huge risk.

Just stick at it and learn from your mistakes. It's not a game that requires you to be amazing or anything (unless you wanna PVP seriously), but if you don't think about what you're doing you'll never progress.

Use the Brazier with the fire in to get between you and the Gargoyle, I usually then hit and run with rolling attacks with the DBS, just focus on one until it's down as splitting your damage will mess shit up.
